D-7110 was built by Mr. Helmut Regenhardt from the original plans. He started work in 1999 and in 2001 the aircraft was already in an advanced stage. It was then expected to fly in 2003/2004 but details about this are missing. It later went to the Deutsches Segelflugmuseum. The Grüne Post was designed by Alexander Lippisch for the popular magazine Grüne Post that made the plans available. The first flight was made in Nov-1932 and about 250 were completed from the plans by aviation groups.

The Rhönbussard was designed for Schleicher by Hans Jacobs and first flew in 1933. It was an advanced training glider and 220 were built by Schleicher. Additionally an unknown number were built by some small manufacturers and gliding clubs. The one seen here is a composite of cns 227 and 649 assembled by Segelfug IG Hiltenfingen between 1951 and 1953 and was registered D-1137. In 1974 it came to the Deutsches Segelflugmuseum at Wasserkuppe. It is painted to commemorate D-HESSELBERG from the mid 1930s.

This aircraft was built in Apr-1943 by Mraz. Its original registration is unknown but it later became D-6260. It was acquired by the Deutsches Segelflugmuseum at Wasserkuppe where it was painted in a late 1930s scheme as D-8-11. To be historically correct it should carry a swastika on the fin but that is legally not allowed in Germany. The Kranich was designed by Hans Jacobs and around 2000 Kranich and Kranich II (the Kranich III is a different design) were built by several manufacturers in a number of countries, and also by gliding clubs.

The Condor IV is a 1952 twin-seat trainer development of the pre-war single-seat performance glider Condor I/II/III series. The Condor IV was built by Dittmar (2x), Schmetz (5x), Schleicher (7x) and Madsen in Argentina who built 18 kits for completion by gliding clubs. The photo shows a Schleicher-built one that was built in 1953 and registered as D-1092. It later went to the Deutsches Segelflugmuseum at Wasserkuppe where it was painted as "D-CONDOR" to commemorate the original Condor prototype, but that was a quite different single-seat Condor I.

After having visited the aviation exposition ILA Frankfurt in 1909, a group of 14 to 16 year old grammar school pupils became so enthusiastic that they founded the Flug-Sport-Vereinigung Darmstadt on 25-Aug-1909. They started to build several types of gliders and test flying them. On 22-Jul-1912 Hans Gutermuth flew their FSV-10 a distance of 840m in 1 min 50 sec at the Wasserkuppe, which at that time was a new glider world record. The photo shows the replica built by the Deutsches Segelflugmuseum.

The Grunau Baby III was a further development of the Grunau Baby IIb with a slightly longer wing and fuselage and the addition of a wheel. Schleicher built a series of 21 from 1951 to 1955 and also Meschenmoser built a series. But many more were amateur built by gliding clubs. D-4303 was built by Schleicher in 1951 and later handed over to the Deutsches Segelflugmuseum at Wasserkuppe.

This is a replica of the very first rocket-engined aircraft in the world. The original Ente was built as a glider and made its first flight in Jun-1927. It was converted as the Raketen-Ente and as such flew on 11-Jun-1928, first with two 12 kg rockets and in the end with two 20 kg ones. The rockets were ignited after a bungee launch. It then flew 1400m in one minute. On a later flight the same day the aircraft caught fire but a safe landing could hastily be made. In Oct-1928 it was exposed at the ILA Berlin. The non-airworthy replica shown here was built by the Deutsches Segelflugmuseum.

The Rhönbussard was designed for Schleicher by Hans Jacobs and first flew in 1933. It was an advanced training glider and 220 were built by Schleicher. Additionally an unknown number were built by some small manufacturers and gliding clubs. The one seen here is a composite of cns 227 and 649 assembled by Segelflug IG Hiltenfingen between 1951 and 1953. In 1974 it came to the Deutsches Segelflugmuseum at Wasserkuppe. It is painted to commemorate D-HESSELBERG from the mid 1930s.

The ESG-29 is a single-seat primary training glider from 1929 that flew in many countries. Large numbers have been built, also by gliding clubs. It had the nickname "Schädelspalter" (skullsplitter) because of the strut in front of the pilot, but no such occurrences have been reported! The one seen here is an airworthy replica built by Klaus Heyn and handed over to the Deutsches Segelflugmuseum at Wasserkuppe in 1988.

HB-16 was built in 1933 in Switzerland by Messrs Widmer and Stirnemann. In 1970 it was discovered by Klaus Heyn in an Alpine mountain railway shed and brought to Germany where he restored it. It then went to the Deutsches Segelflugmuseum at Wasserkuppe. At the lefthand side it carries the registration D-FALKE. The Falke was designed by Alexander Lippisch and apart from RRG was also built by Schleicher, Schneider, ÖAeC and many gliding clubs. In England Slingsby built it as the T-1/T-2 Falcon.

D-5069 was built and delivered in Oct-1952. After it was damaged in 1990 it went to the Deutsches Segelflugmuseum at Wasserkuppe. The ES-49 was designed by Edmund Schneider who gave a license to Schleicher to build the prototypes and series production. Only 8 were built because the gliding clubs preferred steel tube trainers instead of the wooden construction of the ES-49. After Schneider moved to Australia plans of the aircraft were sold as the ES-49 Wallaby and a few were built. A redesigned development was the ES-49B Kangaroo.
