First flight for this Islander was on November 30, 1970 with test registration G-51-241. Destined to become CF-QPM for Air Halifax in Canada, the aircraft had an extended delivery flight when Britten-Norman entered it in the 1971 London to Victoria Air Race. Pictured at a stop in Ottawa, the Canadian registration taped over and marked G-AZAX with race number 54, it flew back across Canada for delivery. Sold to Harbor Airlines as N67HA in January 1977, it would move to Slocum Air by 1981. Registered to Nassau based MD Air Services in 1984 where is was written off after overrunning the runway.

The aircraft was one of the contestants in the London to Victoria, BC. air race that had gathered at Abingdon prior to the start. It was removed from the Canadian register in March 1997 and was last reported stored with the Nanton Lancaster Society Museum, at Nanton, AB. in June 2001.
