This 2017 built Bell 407 is one of some 150 HEMS helicopters of different types operated by Air Evac Lifeteam across 18 US states. Air Evac Lifeteam is part of America's largest air ambulance membership network, called Air Med Care Network, an alliance which also includes other HEMS programs like Guardian Flight, Med-Trans Corporation and REACH Air Medical Services. The network operates 350 aircraft (fixed-wing and helicopters) and currently maintains 320 bases in 38 US states.

Night and day, Air Evac LifeTeam's air ambulance service serving rural areas keeps busy saving lives, seen here at the 100' x 100' helipad behind Hampton Inn, Urbana just after delivering a patient to OSF HealthCare Heart of Mary Medical Center. These medically equipped helicopters are equipped with a glass cockpit, Garmin Helicopter Terrain Awareness and Warning System (HTAWS) and NVG.

Air Evac Lifeteam has over 130 bases in the Midwest and Southeast USA. A similar number of helicopters, mostly Bell 206L LongRangers plus a dozen Bell 407s and two fixed wing aircraft make up their fleet. This LongRanger has been with them since 2012.
