Delivered new in 1958 and on 5 November 1970 it was wrecked when the nose-wheel collapsed landing at Corfu (LGKR). We only got to see the Olympic Comets on scheduled services, so this was a nice treat thanks to a charter flight carrying Scouts home from the 11th World Jamboree at Marathon, Greece.

The registration can just be made out. This Dakota crashed on an Athens to Thessaloniki service on 29 October 1959 and all 19 people on board lost their lives. DC-6 SX-DAE is also seen and an Air France Caravelle is just taking off in the background. Photo by: Jack Metzger / ETH-Bibliothek Zürich
