Struck off charge in October 1971, displayed at RAF Manby and allocated maintenance serial 8184M before being moved to No 4 School of Recruit Training at Swinderby in March 1974. Displayed adjacent to the parade ground until August 1991 when it was moved to the fire dump and subsequently scrapped. The cockpit survives and is currently in storage with the Hooton Park Museum. The Imperial War Museums gives the location of this photo as "Holland, late 1944". There is debate that this aircraft was shot down on September 14, 1944. The confusion is whether this aircraft or EJ695 was W2-Y. At the time 80 Squadron was based in Belgium. This photo clearly shows EJ705 was W2-X. EJ705 is also shown as lost on March 11, 1945 at Volkel. That scenario better fits the IWM date and location. Photo from: Imperial War Museums
