Ex RAAF, became VH-UWB in 1958. Sold in the UK as G-ARUK in 1962. Crashed near Kallista, Victoria, on April 12 that year while on a test flight ahead of an attempt on an Australia-UK record flight. Photo from: Civil Aviation Historical Society, Melbourne, Australia
Scrapped at Moorabbin in 1961 four years after being withdrawn from use. Despite what is stated in multiple places online, this is not the aircraft that was converted into CA-28 Ceres VH-SSF. That was converted from CA-16 A20-129 purchased by CAC in 1958 as a direct disposal from the government. Both aircraft existed at the same time, the Ceres initially registered as VH-CEO in January 1961. Source: Geoff Goodall.
