The world's last remaining Beverley was long preserved at the Fort Paull museum near Hull and previously at the Museum of Army Transport, appropriately at Beverley. As is well known, it has now been painstakingly disassembled and moved to the Solway Aviation Museum at Carlisle, where the challenging task of rebuilding it is underway. It will be great to see it on completion, back in authentic silver/white RAE colours rather than the phoney camouflage, never worn by XB259

The world's last remaining Beverley is now one of the exhibits at the Fort Paull museum near Hull. Unfortunately not the easiest plane to photograph due to a horrible shed in the foreground (just visible in the right of the frame) and tail on all day to the sun.

This aircraft had a long and varied service life ending up as gate guardian at RAF Chivenor and then at the Humbrol factory in Hull. After the factory closed the plane was rescued by the Fort Paull museum near Hull where she, and the world's last remaining Beverley, is well looked after.
