The Lavochkin La-250 Anakonda was a high-altitude interceptor aircraft prototype developed in the Soviet Union in the 1950s. Test flights of the 5 prototypes were plagued by crashes caused by failures of the hydraulic boost system and landing gear as well as poor forward visibility (the latter was corrected with fitting of a new slightly "drooped" nose). The La-250A made 21 test flights in 1956-1958. The programme was terminated in 1959 and this aircraft arrived at Monino for display in 1967.

The La-250 was intended to be a high-altitude interceptor aircraft developed in the USSR in the 1950s. Problems and a series of crashes led to the improved 'A' version with a slightly drooped nose, delta wings, smaller fuselage but less powerful engines. Note also the separation of the engine intake from the fuselage to improve airflow at supersonic speeds. This La-250A is on display at the Central Air Force Museum.

Supersonic interceptor, missile armed. Approx 4 or 5 were completed. This is the sole survivor.

Lavochkin's last aircraft looks crude, but there were countless problems with this Mach 1.5 heavy interceptor. This is the fourth and last example.
