One of two aircraft painted in false markings as WB188. The original is currently (2021) preserved at Tangmere.

Thought this would be a nice festive touch for Christmas 2020 as a thankyou to the "Crew" and all of the contributing photographers. Aircraft is really XF300, then G-BZPC. The real WB188 was at RAF Melksham(12 School of Technical Training) as a gate guard during the late 50's until the closure of the station in 1964. Neat touch with a red light in the tailpipe! This really is the former G-BZPC and XF300. No longer current at this location having moved to Kent in August 2017.

Built as a Hunter F.4 XF300 at Blackpool in 12.55, serving 71, 234 and 130 Squadrons. Rebuilt as a GA.11 and to the Royal Navy in 12.61. Sold as G-BZPC in 2000 and fitted with an F3 nose cap and repainted to represent Neville Duke's record breaking WB188.

Wearing the Serial WB188 but it should really be XF300 which was it's true identity. (Canon 40D 45mm)

This aircraft is in reality XF300 but painted up in this red scheme to honour Nevil Duke and his successful attempt (in the 'real' WB188) to break the world air speed record.
