Last flew less than a year later in April 1974 and allocated 8411M as a decoy at Wattisham. Roaded to the Pendine Ranges in August 1986 and taken away for scrap March 1994.

This F1 made its first flight on 12 January 1960. The aircraft started with 74sq/C in August 1960 and subsequently flew with 226 OCU , the Wattisham TTF and became the star of the official RAF fighter display in 1969 and 1970 and became 8411M as a decoy / instructional airframe at Wattisham from 1981, was used as a target at the DTEO Pendine Ranges and then scrapped by March 1994.

Early production Lightning F.1 built at Warton in 1960. It latterly served the RAF Wattisham Target Facilities Flight. Here it prepares to display at the 1971 Paris Air Show. Retired in May 1974.

First flown in 1.60, this early Lightning joined the Wattisham TFF (Target Facilities Flight) in 2.70 and was the solo display aircraft at Farnborough that year and Paris in 1971. Last flew 4.74 and allocated 8411M as a decoy at Wattisham. Roaded to the Pendine Ranges in 8.86 and taken away for scrap 3.94
