Afternoon departure - QTR989 to Melbourne taxiing for departure off Rw 05. This flight originates in Doha and flies to Melbourne from where it flies empty to Adelaide before returning empty to Melbourne and eventually onto Doha with normal loading. It is believed this seemingly odd movement is to comply with aviation laws in Australia to allow Qatar Airways to operate a second daily flight to and from Melbourne and is understood to be a temporary measure for a little time.
