Wonderful shot taken near Moritzburg, north of Dresden. Note the route sign on the aircraft, as on a train. By 1930 NOBA's network stretched far beyond Northern Bavaria and in January 1931 its name changed to Deutsche Verkehrsflug AG - DEVAG. The company was liquidated by the new Nazi government in 1934. Willy Messerschmitt designed the four-seat BFW M 18 at the request of Theodor Croneiss and his North Bavarian Airlines (NOBA) acquired a fleet of 19 examples. D-1347, D-1405 Gera and D-1365 were likely pictured at NOBA's base, the former Fürth / Nuremberg - Atzenhof airport. Rob Mulder's European Airlines website has a comprehensive article about this interesting company. Photo from: ETH-Bibliothek Zürich
