Airframe was approved for an uprated, 450-hp P&W Wasp engine. Listed as delivered to Transportes Aereos de Chiapas - TACSA in Mexico. Photo from collection of Lammot du Pont, a member of the wealthy Du Pont family who invested in Bellanca. The likely location would be Bellanca Airfield in Delaware, but the background doesn't seem to match. Photo from: Hagley Museum and Library

Built in 1928 as a CH-300, then restored and fitted with 420 h.p. P&W Wasp engine to CH-400 standard. Painted to represent the prewar record breaking Bellanca WB-2 NX237 with the "New York - Berlin" titles and number 140 it carried during its failed transatlantic flight on 4-6 June 1927. It never reached Berlin but landed at Eisleben, Germany instead. The smaller titles on the rear fuselage read "Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce", which organised this transatlantic challenge.
