BA's Tristars usually visited Australia to meet P&O cruise ships to drop off and pick up passengers not making the complete round-the-world voyage. At the time G-BHBR visited Perth, the liner QE2 was making its maiden voyage to Australia.

British Airways operated transtlantic services from GLA for a few years. This Tristar is pictured on a frosty morning just starting her take-off roll on rw23 for the hop across to JFK. Alas, I lost my notebook for this time period, hence, the shot is not correctly dated but was taken between the dates 28th October to 9th November 1990.
