Built to RAAF order as a basic trainer and made its first flight at CAC's Fisherman's Bend aerodrome on 10 December 1956. Served with the RAAF until sold on 26 May 1970. Stored stripped and dismantled under various owners until acquired by Jeff Trappett in 1989. Restored at Point Cook, Latrobe Valley and Toowoomba. First flight at Toowoomba 7 April 1995. Currently based at Latrobe Valley and seen here arriving for the RAAF Museum Air Pageant.

This Kaydet came to Australia in 1982 and was the first stearman to fly in Australia. first registered VH-AGR and re-registered later as VH-PUD seen here in Mangalore at the Air Show, Scanned from a Kodak slide.

VH-AGR was reregistered VH-PUD in December 1989. The serial on the fin is part of its MSN applied in the style of the US Army Air Force in World War II. -AGR saw no service with the USAAF but was delivered to the US Navy.

VH-AGR was flown to Australia to escape the Japanese advance in World War II, operated by the Netherlands navy in the East Indies (Indonesia). It was impressed into the RAAF, then sold after the war ended. Then the story gets complicated. There were three Ryan ST-M2s registered VH-AGR and this is the third, registered in 1958. The first (MSN 483) crashed and the fuselage of the second (MSN 475) was used it its rebuilt, giving it a new identity. Then it crashed and another fuselage used (MSN 466). This third aircraft was sold in the US an N2617W in 1981
