Climbing away from Glasgow's Runway 23 after an overnight stop en route from Africa back to the USA. Built for the USAAF as Douglas C-47B-30-DK, 44-76166. Transferred to the RAF in April 1945 as KN472. Joined the South African AF in October 1945 as 6868, latterly converted to a DC-3-65TP. Entered civilian life in 1998 as N194RD then ZS-OIR. Re-registered as N194RD with Dodson Aviation of Ottawa, Kansas in 1999. Joined the evangelical Christian aid agency Samaritan's Purse International Relief of Boone, North Carolina in 2001 as N467SP

Delivered to the USAAF as 44-76616 then to the RAF as KN472 and the SAAF as 6868 in 1945. Converted to a DC-3-65TP in 1995. Sold as ZS-OIR in 1998 then N194RD in 1999 and to Samaritan's Purse as N467SP in 2001. Still current on the register in 2022.
