Picture taken shortly before the fateful collision that resulted in the crash of Mustang D-FBBD. In this series of my shots the Skyraider pilot is looking out to the right as 'Big Beautiful Doll' breaks high and to the left. A few seconds later they both collide in the turn and the Mustang was lost but fortunately the pilot was able to bale out in the nick of time.

This Skyraider made her first flight in May 1950 and delivered to the USN as 124086. Relatively quicly she was donated to the UK for preservation and shipped across the Atlantic on HMS Perseus in 1953. She is now stored outside the Fleet Air Arm Museum's Reserve Collection at Cobham Hall.
