First flown in 1913, the Avro 504 had a very long life for an aircraft of its era. The modernized 504N, with a radial engine and a new undercarriage, appeared in 1925 and was a standard trainer in the RAF until 1933. This airframe was one of three built by the Danish Orlogsvaerftet (Naval Yard).
