This A-7D went directly from the factory to the 120th Tactical Fighter Squadron of the Colorado Air National Guard's 140th Tactical Fighter Wing in 1974. During its 18 year career with the Guard, it participated in many exercises and deployments. During a deployment to the Netherlands in 1976, the airplane was named Speedwell to celebrate the friendship between the Colorado Air National Guard and the town hosting them. In 1981, the squadron won the Air Force Worldwide Gunnery CoCompetition (nicknamed Gunsmoke). On loan from the National Museum of the USAF. (from the museum's website).

One of only three surviving RF-84Ks in the world. Built by Republic in September 1955 as a stock RF-84F, it was sent immediately to Beechcraft in Wichita, Kansas, for conversion into an RF-84K. Beechcraft installed the retractable hook-on equipment and the downward-angled horizontal tail that distinguished the special FICON aircraft, then performed test flights and turned the airplane over to the Air Force. The B-1A had a number of unique design features that did not make their way into the B-1B, including variable aspect engine intakes which moved to give the best performance at a variety of speeds, and an escape capsule that would eject the entire crew together in case of an emergency.This B-1A was the third aircraft built out of four. The Air Force assigned it to Lowry AFB in 1989 to serve as a ground trainer for munitions loading procedures. It is on loan from the National Museum of the US Air Force. (from the museum's website)

The B-18 Bolo on display at Wings (one of the five remaining B-18s in the world) has a colorful history. After training bombardiers during World War II, civilian owners used it as a cargo aircraft, aerial sprayer, and survey aircraft. In 1959 it was caught running guns to Fidel Castro for the Cuban revolution and confiscated by the US Border Patrol. The National Museum of the US Air Force loaned the B-18 to Wings Over the Rockies in 1990, and the Restorations team has restored it to its prewar bomber configuration. (from the museum's website)
