Reregistered N51JV iun 1979. The aircraft was restored between 1992 and 1993 and became N51ES. The marking as seen in the photo were applied in 1993. Reregistered N351BD in July 2003. To N551JP by February 2016. The aircraft crashed on February 5, 2016 when it impacted terrain near Maricopa, Arizona. Both occupants sadly did not survive the crash. Current status of the airframe is unknown to me.

Painted as a P-51D of the 322 FG, the famed "Tuskegee Airmen", with distinctive red tail. This P-51D actually served in Europe at the end of WW 2 in the 352 FS, 353 FG. In December 1946 it was transferred to the Swedish Air Force. In 1961 it went to the Dominican Republic Air Force, and was sold to a US buyer in 2009. Assigned FAA registration N722WR. It was never restored to flying condition and was acquired by the museum in 2013, where it has been restored to display condition.
