Pictured slowing down on rw09 after a superb flying display as part of RIAT 2012. This aircraft honours F/O Miroslav Ferić, the 11th ranked Polish fighter ace of WWII who was killed 70 years ago. During the Battle of Britain he served with the Polish 303 Sqn and their insignia adorns the top side of this aircraft.

This C-47 is in genuine Jordanian colours, having joinied the RJAF in 1964 after serving the USAF as 42-100997. Registered N62443 to JV Masin (the dealer that also handled the disposal of a number of ex-African military Caribous) in 1975 and to the Flugausstellung L+P Junior collection in 1981

A very classy tribute on the tailfins of this MiG to WWII ace Mirosław Ferić. Like many Polish pilots, he reached Britain via Romania and France after the defeat of Poland, and fought in the Battle of Britain. He was killed as his Spitfire broke up in the air in 1942.

The Polish AF's 303 Sqn have painted this MiG-29 with a mural to commemorate Mirosław Ferić, a WWII fighter ace killed when his Spitfire (BL432) broke up over RAF Northolt in 1942. The MiG, based at Minsk Mazowiecki, was a previous RIAT visitor, back in 1997
