'White 9' colour scheme UFFZ Edmund Roβmann, one of the most respected leaders in JG52. 'Paule' flew in the Battle of Britain before transferring to Russia. In July 1943 he landed behind enemy lines in an attempt to rescue a fellow pilot but was captured by the Russians. He had scored 93 victories, and had been awarded the Knight's Cross. After a long rebuilt this plane made its first flight on October 5th, 2000. It is owned by Harold Kindsvater and based at the former Castle AFB in California. Even the FAA registry denotes this aircraft as a Messerschmidt ME-109, however, it is clearly a Spanish built Hispano HA-1112. It is wearing nice German Winkel-Dreieck-Strich markings of Jagdgeschwader 27.
