The RAAF Museum's Boomerang saw wartime service with 2 OTU, 83 and 85 Squadrons from February 1943. In 1945 it was used in the film 'Smithy', pretending to be Kingsford Smith's Lockheed Altair VH-USB. In 1946 it was given to the Australian Air League, but was recovered and refurbished by the RAAF in 1967, and put on display at RAAF Williamtown. After a period on display at the Australian War Memorial, it came to the RAAF Museum.

This was one of an RCAF order for a total of 280 Expediter 3s, which were basically D18S airframes. These were used as transports and navigation trainers in Canada and European NATO countries where Canada had training commitments. Served with the RCAF 1952-68 as 1598. Not great quality but an historic occasion - VH-VQI at Melbourne on the inaugural Jetstar service. She arrived from Newcastle/Williamtown with a load of big nobs on board to a media event in Melbourne. The aircraft had only just been repainted into Jetstar colours, having been with Impulse Airlines before they were bought out by Qantas. Later re-registered as VH-YQI and still going strong with National Jet Systems as VH-NXN.

Originally registered with the 'trade plate' N9281X, it was re-registered in Australia new to dealer Rex Aviation in Sydney on 28 March 1962. From there it was sold in New Guinea, returning later to Melbourne Cessna dealer Schutt Aircraft, from whom the Mid Murray Aero Club at Swan Hill acquired it in July 1965. Pulling the latest thing in light twins out of the static park after WOI 18. This is the Hawker Pacific demonstrator, registered new in Australia on 1 August 2016. The DA62 is powered by two Jet A1-burning Austro AE300 diesel engines - a good thing given the increasing price and scarcity of Avgas.
