Skylark imported from the USA in 04.62 ex N8502X

This well-maintained Skylark was imported new into Australia in 1962 and first registered on 10 April. You can clearly see the distinctive hump on the cowling of the GO-300 and the constant-speed prop of the 'C' model Skylark. This aircraft also has the Horton Stol-Craft STOL kit incorporated, which includes leading edge cuffs, conical camber wingtips and aileron seals. The optional flap gap seals aren't fitted.

This Skylark was photographed at its home base. The 'C' Skylark featured a few new goodies such as a constant-speed prop. This Skylark was registered new in Australia on 10 April 1962 as VH-ALK(2), and later became VH-RBP for a while. It was formerly allocated but never wore the US reg N8392T.

VH-AEK was the aircraft's third Australian registration. It carried from 1966 and was still on the register 51 years later
