The first prototype Fulcrum is on display at the Central Museum of the Air Forces at Monino. It differs from the production versions in having an altered nose leg configuration and ventral fins.

The first prototype MiG-29, first flown on 6 October 1977. The nosewheel is further forward than on subsequent aircraft, just as on the Sukhoi Su-27 prototype T-10.
