Sivewright Airways Anson XIX "Mancunia" had undercarriage problems on a flight from Ringway and the pilot (seen here) elected to make a wheels-up landing on Barton's grass strip. This was helped by the protruding wheels (visble). The Annie was jacked up, inspected and quickly returned to service. G-AHXK served Sivewrights from 03.48 until cessation of operations in 03.51. It later became VH-RCC.

1946-built Avro XIX delivered to Sivewright Airways in August 1946 and serving until March 1951. Named "Salfordia" after the local town. Operated on schedules and charters.

1946-built Avro Nineteen operated by Kemps, based at Southampton (Eastleigh) for aerial photography and surveys between March 1965 and January 1973.

Federated's Anson I has arrived from its Liverpool (Speke) base to pick up a cargo of newspapers bound for the Isle of Man. The ex-RAF Anson (ex MH182) served the small airline from 1954 until disposal in April 1961.

VH-BAF was the rare survivor from Australia's large fleet of civil Ansons. When the rest were grounded in 1962 due to safety concerns over their glued wooden wings, VH-BAF was fitted with the metal wings and tailplane from an Avro Nineteen. Other modifications included an hydraulic undercarriage and constant speed props. VH-BAF was withdrawn from use in 1974 but returned to the skies 10 years later. For 18 years it spent a lot of time in museums with the occasional air show appearance. In 2002 it was sold in New Zealand where it was restored with the original glasshouse cabin as ZK-RRA.
