Sivewright Airways Anson XIX "Mancunia" had undercarriage problems on a flight from Ringway and the pilot (seen here) elected to make a wheels-up landing on Barton's grass strip. This was helped by the protruding wheels (visble). The Annie was jacked up, inspected and quickly returned to service. G-AHXK served Sivewrights from 03.48 until cessation of operations in 03.51. It later became VH-RCC. This photo is copyright © R.A.Scholefield, and may not be used or published in any way without permission.
