The Mi-8T was officially phased out by the Indian Air Force on 17 December 2017. It is not clear what happened with this 2342. It was last reported at Yelahanka (already as a wreck) by the Soviet Transports Data Files in February 2011.

Former K2730 and reregistered into KA2730 by 2018. 2730 mwas delivered to the IAF on 20 March 1986 and is now in its final days of operation. The type will be replaced by the CASA C295. The last confirmed unit of 2730 was 33 Squadron "Himalayan Geese" based at Sulur AFS, some 140 miles south of Bengalure. The An-32RE is a modernised version of the An-32. Its maximum take off weight was increased to 28,5 tons, and its payload increased to 7,5 tons. The RE is also equipped with new new avionics.
