Delivered to the IAF on 30 March 1985 as K2662. It was reserialled by 2018 into KI2662. The IAF operates seventeen Il-76s that were acquired between 1985 and 1989. The IAF had plans to upgrade the aircraft with PS90 turbofans (like the six Il-78 tankers of the IAF), but it is now said that the fleet will be retired soon. The last flight is expected within a few years. The tasks of the type will be handed over to the C-130 and C-17 fleet of the IAF.
