Its actual identity is thought to be either F-361, F-365 or F-366, and the real F-338 is assumed to be on display at air force headquarters in Jakarta.

The Mustang looks so modern after all these years. This beauty was delivered to the Netherlands East Indies air force at the end of World War II. It was used in the Dutch 'policing actions', then handed over to the Indonesians. In 1958 it was involved in operations against CIA-backed forces in the Moluccas.

In 1950, newly independent Indonesia purchased a number of BT-13 'Vibrator' trainers from US war stocks. This one is now a popular siesta spot for workers here at DPS.
