Quite a few of these military freighters were seen at western European airports during the Iran-Iraq war, particularly in Germany, France and the Netherlands. Although always flown under Iraqi Airways flight numbers and with civil registrations, they were operated for the military.

I'm not really into biz-jets at all, but there are exceptions if they sport airline colours. JetStars were always something special and one in Iraqi colours much more so. Went on to become 7T-VHP then much later (briefly) OD-MKI and ended up derelict at Geneva as HB-JGK

During the period of the Iran-Iraq war, we were fortunate at LHR that Saddam's mighty Il-76s were frequent visitors. After being evacuated to Iran during the first Gulf War in 1991, this one was put into service by the Iranian AF in a two-tone grey camo scheme but grounded at Shiraz in the early 2000s

Delivered 3.76 and stored at Amman along with YI-AGK, AGQ & AGS since the first Gulf War in 1991, becoming fairly derelict
