First flight 1966, this Learjet was a true oldy! It is former an ASSESS airborne telescope aircraft. and served this laboratory from 1973 onwards. The 24A was then delivered NASA Ames (N702NA) where it was registered on 10 Jun'74. It was moved to Dryden on 9 Feb'98 as N805NA. The jet was sadly lost in an accident on 7 Jun'01 during a hard landing at Victorville (CA). The 24A was under control of the co-pilot who disengaged the yaw damper and entered a pilot induced lateral oscillation. The airplane rapidly decelerated and developed a high sink rate. It bounced several times and came to rest.

Delivered to the USAF on 15 February 1986, it served the 412th Test Wing up to October 2003 before it was transferred to the 40th FLTS at Eglin AFB (FL). It was then delivered to RAF Lakenheath where it was assigned to the 493rd FS. Following the retirement of F-15C/Ds at the UK base, the Eagle was then assigned to the 114th FS with the Oregon ANG. The F-15D the experienced an in flight emergency followed by a runway excursion after landing at Kingsley Field (OR). It came to a stop in an irrigation canal at the south side of the runway and is most probably written off. The sole pilot: ok!

Former TF-15A, redesignated to F-15B on 1 December 1977 and delivered to the USAF on 29 March 1978. The aircraft saw service at Holloman, Luke and Tyndall, before it arrived at Edwards AFB. It was a test aircraft up to late 2003, flown over to Eglin and stored at that location since.

This F-16B served the 412th Test Wing from 2000 to late 1992, was rebuilt to GF-16B and served as an instructional airframe with the 82nd TRW at Sheppard AFB (TX). It was scrapped at Tucson (AZ) by September 2009.

A lot of history in here: This helicopter lifted the US ambassador off the roof in Saigon in 1975. According to the friendly crew of HMM-774,'Honkers' based at NS Norfolk, VA, this is the only Sea Knight operating in these Vietnam style green retro colours.

This 1976 YF-18A is the 6th McDonnell Douglas built single seat prototype and was delivered to the US Navy on 31 Jan'80 with code 6 to the Naval Air Test Center, NAS Patuxent River (MD). It served the NATC up to 22 Oct'84 when it was transferred to NASA. Initially it carried its BuNo and "NASA 840", in 1985 it received registration N840NA. The Hornet was used from 1987-1996 as a High Alpha Research Vehicle with thrust-vectoring vanes, research flight control system and forward fuselage strakes. Since 2003 it is preserved at the Virginia Air & Space, Hampton (VA). Here pictured at Dryden FRC.

Operated by 6512 TS - AFFTC. This aircraft carries the name 'Canned' Ham on the nose. First flight Oct 20, 1973 at St Louis, MO.

Operated by AFFTC / General Electric. The following info is from Joe Baugher's great website. Bailed to GE Flight Test Jan 1966 and converted to NB-52E as engine testbed for TF39 and CF6. Put in long term storage in 1972. Decommissioned by GE in 1980 and towed to south end of lakebed at Rogers Dry Lake. Years later in 1991 it was broken up by explosive charges according to provisions of SALT treaty. It seems that a Russian photo interpreter noticed that the plane seem to be intact and ready to go, and insisted that it be rendered inoperative. Seen at Rogers Dry Lake in three pieces.

Operated by AFFTC. Built in 1960 and designated as an AO-1C. Redesignated to an OV-1C in 1962. Scrapped at Avcrad, MS.

Operated by AFFTC. Noted on 10 Mar 2104 at Sheppard AFB TX as a GA-10A ground instructional airframe.

Assigned to the 6516th TS - AFFTC. Delivered to Edwards AFB on 12 Ju 1978. Stored at Fort Worth in Feb 1994 Preserved at the Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas Texas from Jun 2004. Behind is F-16A 78-0002 c/n 61-008.
