Lovely scenery at Palmer makes this bright yellow Thrush a standout against the Snow covered Mouintains behind.

We were fortunate to be at Palmer when this spotless Conair Convair 580 arrived at Palmer for the Summer season where it is based for Fire Fighting duties. The colour scheme looks at home with the lovely background scenery of snow-covered mountains.

Seen stored at Palmer without its rotor, this former US Coast Guard S-62 (ex USCG 1403) was built in 1965 and sits on the ramp set against the wonderful mountain background.

You don't see too many ski-equipped C-47's. Triple Seven Yankee Alpha had been stored for quite some time at Palmer and had seen several changes of ownership but kept the 'Woods Air Service' titles. Its career took off again in 2007 and ended with Bush Air Cargo in 2015 due to a landing accident, still in the same colours.

'Miss Karon' joined Woods a year before the photo was taken. She was bought by Everts Air Fuel in May 2003 and subsequently flown to Texas for rebuild. Eventually Everts Air Cargo put her in cold storage at Fairbanks after many years of work. She was still there early in 2017.

Starting up for another mission, this magnificent fire bomber was completing her nineteenth year of service with T & G at the photo date. She began her career in 1957 with Delta airlines and received that company's classic livery again after the summer of '99. Ten years later I saw her like that down south with International Air Response at Coolidge, AZ, where she still resides.
