This Moth Minor is actually a pre-war civil import. It was allocated the UK rego G-AFNN to the Hull Aero Club in 1939 but appears to have been deregistered the same day. It was registered VH-ACR on 17 Jan 1940 until impressed as the last of the RAAF's Moth Minors A21-42 in Nov 1941. Returned after the war to VH-ACR in 1945 until withdrawn in 1947. This Bird Dog was built in 1954 for the US Army and allocated the serial 51-12898. After retirement it seems to have been stored unregistered until recent restoration. The Australian registration VH-LKA seems to have been allocated but not taken up. It was actually registered VH-EAZ(4) on 3 April 2009 and has a rather attractive 'Bird Dog' cartoon on the starboard side.
