A true relic that had to have its space in this aeronautical museum. A B-25 Mitchell painted in the colors of the "Apache Princess" resting for years in the museum at the Mariscal Sucre air base. It was seized by Ecuadorian authorities in Guayaquil in 1965 for carrying contraband cargo. In 1978 the Ecuadorian Air Force took it to Quito to be exhibited in this museum, initially wearing fictitious FAE colors and fictitious registration B-N9069Z. In October 2011 this design was added imitating the "Apache Princess". Ex- USAF (44-86866).

This special visitor came from Tumaco to the new Quito's Airport with a special delegation from Colombia due to the visit of president Iván Duque the following day in order to attend the posession of the new president of Ecuador, Guillermo Lasso. The president of Colombia cancelled its trip the next day due to the riots in that country, so this helicopter flew back to the new airport to pick up their passengers and returned to Colombia.

Who would think we would be able to see the presidential helicopter of Colombia at the old Mariscal Sucre airport. After signing a contract with Barcelona Sporting Club soccer team from Guayaquil, Icaro painted this plane with this livery and was named "Canario 01". It was the official carrier of the team. Originally the radome was white but was later added the soccer ball design. Unfortunately the plane was written off after overshooting the runway in Quito on September 22, 2008.
