Kingfisher Airlines was founded in 2003. Owned by the United Breweries Group (Kingfisher Beer), it initally started to operate within India using A319, A320, A321 and ATR42/72 aircraft. Then in 2008, five new A330-200's were acquired with London being the 1st longhaul destination. By October 2012, the airline was bankrupt and ceased operations. Two A330-200 ended up with Turkish Airlines, one with Vietnam Airlines and VT-VJL seen here went to Arik Air in Nigeria as 5N-JIC, togehter with sistership VT-VJN which became 5N-JID. Both have since been scrapped.
