This An-72 was delivered to the Soviet Union AF in 1991 (despite it wearing Aeroflot titles). In 1993, the registration was changed to RA-72962 and it has been active with the Russian AF until at least 2018. Photo taken by an unknown photographer during a rare visit of this type at Eindhoven. Operated by the 226th OAP, this aircraft brought an inspection team of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) as part of an agreement between the CIS and NATO to increase mutual security. The aircraft stayed on the ground here from 18 until 21 February 1992.

This was a poor quality desperation shot which I would not normally submit. However, as it's not in the DB yet, I am doing so. The aircraft had served British European Airways, Cambrian Airways, British Airways, British Air Ferries and Manx Airlines as G-AOYM before joining LAC in October 1985. It was retired in May 1989 and stored at TFN.
