This An-72 was delivered to the Soviet Union AF in 1991 (despite it wearing Aeroflot titles). In 1993, the registration was changed to RA-72962 and it has been active with the Russian AF until at least 2018. Photo taken by an unknown photographer during a rare visit of this type at Eindhoven. Operated by the 226th OAP, this aircraft brought an inspection team of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) as part of an agreement between the CIS and NATO to increase mutual security. The aircraft stayed on the ground here from 18 until 21 February 1992. This photo was added on 20 August 2025, and has since been viewed 120 times. |
