Photographed at US Coast Guard Air Station Miami. The helicopter was withdrawn from use at an unknown date and transferred to the US Army Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD., for survivability testing.

This aircraft had been upgraded with 295hp GO-480 Lycoming engines, reversible pitch props and a water rudder, and at one time held the FIA world speed record for it's weight class amphibian over a set distance. On 12th May 1998 it was badly damaged when it landed on a hard runway at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, OH., with it's undercarriage retracted. It is said to have since been repaired and is still current on the USCAR, but the latest online photo that I could find was dated 2012.

Photographed at US Coast Guard Air Station Miami. This aircraft was originally delivered to the USAF as SA-16A 51-7249 in November 1953, and transferred to the USCG as 7249 in 1960. On retirement in 1978 it was donated to Smithsonian Institution who registered it as N1043N. It was sold to Resorts International Inc/Chalks International Airline as N249S in 1980 and converted as a G-111. Later re-registered N121FB, it had a number of subsequent owners and is shown as current as such on the USCAR with an Oregon owner.

Photographed at Coast Guard Air Station Miami. The aircraft was built as USAF MC-131A Samaritan 52-5785 and served until retired to the MASDC "Boneyard" at Tucson in February 1975. In April 1976 it was transferred to the USCG and re-designated HC-131A but only served until February 1982 when it was again retired to MASDC. It was civilianised as N27232 in May 1982 but nothing of its subsequent history could be traced, and the registration was cancelled in November 2012.

Delivered new to Eastern in August 1959, it went to Falconair as SE-FGC in September 1969 and then to Sterling Sweden in 1970. Its subsequent history is too confused to detail here, but it appears that its lease to Southeast lasted just a few months from October 1977 until it was re-registered N432MA in December 1977 and converted to cargo configuration in October 1978. It ended its days in the the UK with Channel Express initially as N347HA and later G-OFRT which was cancelled on 12 May 2003 and the aircraft was parted out at Coventry.

Made in 1976 and currently based in Iowa as of 2021. (The red building behind is one of the many 'temporary' wartime hangars that were still in use. Most of them had the original white clapboard exterior siding, but this one had been modified. At the time it was in use by Air Canada as a ground equipment base and for buildings & grounds maintenance personnel. Later it was taken over by Ilford-Riverton Airways and in 2021 a modern hangar stands there.)
