The sole SC1 was designed and built by Southern Cross Aviation and flown in 1961. It was intended to be a four-seat touring and training aircraft powered by a 180 h.p. Lycoming O-360. After 25 hours testing it was decided that it could not realistically compete with such as Cessna. It was stored and acquired by the Moorabbin-based museum for display for a period, before retuning to its Toowoomba Queensland birthplace. The "VH-SCA" markings were unofficial.

69-7213 was one of 24 F-4Es leased by the RAAF to cover delays in the delivery of its General Dynamics F-111s. The A69 prefix was issued out of sequence (the F-111s were A8 and the highest prefix a the end of 2017 was A54) for administrative purposes only and never applied to the aircraft. -7213 was returned to the USAF in October 1972 and later modified into an F-4G. It was lost on a training mission when it flew into Mount Moncayo, Spain on March 13, 1980. Peter Ricketts photo
