BMA took on the former Channel Airways services from Southend to the Channel Islands from 3rd March 1972, G-APNE carrying our the first flight. Channel had gone into receivership and ceased flying on 29th February 1972. Note the marshaller with his "SMA" jacket - the initials of Southend Municipal Airport, as it was known at the time.
