Foreign Military Sales BuNo 152153 was delivered to Spain as P.3A-01 on 25 July 1973. It served from the beginning 221 Esc as code 221-20 up to late 1986. Became code 22-21 with Grupo 22. The Orion was upgraded with CASA EADS from late 2010 and returned to service in late 2013 or early 2014. The Maritime Patrol Aircraft was withdrawn from service and stored at Cuatro Vientos from 14 November 2017. It is most probably awaiting preservation at Maestranza museum.

Former BuNo 152153 was delivered to the Spanish Air Force under a Foreign Military Sales contract on 25 July 1973. The Orion was stored at Maestranza Seville from May 2005 and was moved to CASA EADS at San Pablo for an overhaul and upgrade in late 2010. After serving the air force again, the aircraft was stored at Cuatro Vientos from late 2017. The Orion was first noted in the Museo de Aeronáutica y Astronáutica at Cuatro Vientos at 14 November 2017 and added to the collection in February 2018.
