Built by Derek Dyer from plans for a Fisher R-80, which is an 80% scale Tiger Moth. The design has been modified to resemble a Waco UMF7 with a Rotec radial engine up front in a blister cowling and a reprofiled fuselage and fin. If you're wondering, the aircraft's name Simulata Vetera means "Fake Antique".

This Auster is one of the oldest surviving Auster 5s and is been painted in the colours it wore while attached to two Canadian Spitfire squadrons in Normandy in 1944. It was built as a Taylorcraft Auster 5 for the RAF, being taken on charge in 1943 as NJ667. In September 1944 it was re-allocated to 662 AOP Squadron which, by that time, was in Belgium. It was civilianised in 1947 as G-AJJR but later exported to Australia and registered VH-ABA(2) on 1 August 1951.

This Super Cub was manufactured in 1952 for the Portuguese Air Force, carrying the serial FAP 3202. It was later sold on the civil market, being registered CR-TAO. In 1974 it was exported to Australia, becoming VH-FXH on 11 October that year. In more recent times it has been repainted into this fictitious - though not unattractive - US Navy colour scheme, wearing its Portuguese Air Force serial as a Bu number!

The beautiful condition of this aircraft belies its age - it was manufactured in 1956 and briefly wore the US registrations N11B and N4637A. That same year it was exported to Australia, becoming VH-MZK(1) on 4 April. This 1941 Taylorcraft was first registered NC36422, which it still carries above the starboard wing, later N36422. In 2013 it came to Australia, being registered with RAAus as 24-8808 on 3 April, but only briefly. For some reason, a month later on 10 May it was re-registered 24-8422.

This historic aircraft was imported by Milton Kent in 1927. Having been allocated the UK registration G-EBRN, but never taken it up, the aircraft was registered in Australia as G-AUGI. When the Australian registration system changed over it became VH-UGI. The registration lapsed in 1947, but the remains were beautifully rebuilt and returned to the Register on 6 December 2000. Although the registration VH-UGI is carried in small letters beneath the tailplane, the main markings represent its earlier identity as G-AUGI.
