At the time of this photograph fixed wing aircraft were allowed to land inside the Silverstone race circuit on what was one of the old WWII runways, and the Aztec had brought in passengers to attend the 1985 British F1 Grand Prix which was held there on the day. The aircraft is listed on the British civil register but with a revoked Certificate of Airworthiness; it was last reported partially dismantled in a hangar at Sandtoft Airfield, Lincolnshire, on 14th October 2023.

At the time of this photograph fixed wing aircraft were allowed to land inside the Silverstone race circuit on what was one of the old WWII runways, and the Trislander had brought in passengers to attend the 1985 British F1 Grand Prix which was held there on the day. Ex - G-BNZD and 6Y-JQK, the aircraft was de-registered in March 2003 but its fuselage lingered on at least as late as September 2008, when it was photographed at Cumbernauld where old Islanders go to die.

This aircraft was destroyed by fire on 11th June 1986 after it suffered engine failure due to a fuel leak, and force landed close to RAF Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, catching fire on impact; thankfully all three persons on board escaped with just minor burns.

Tragically this aircraft was destroyed, and the pilot killed, on 26 April 1987 when it crashed at Blackbushe during a go-around initiated after an unsafe gear warning that was later found to be erroneous.
