Operated by NAF Mildenhall. Photo taken from my garden. Just departed from runway 07. Delivered to the US Navy on 07 Dec 1955. To storage at MASDC on 27 Jan 1986. To the US civil register as N8149P and converted to a mosquito sprayer at Beaufort SC. Registration cancelled on 19 Feb 2022.

Delivered to the US Navy as 141009 in 1955. Stored at Davis-Monthan AFB with park code 1G023 in 1986. Sold as N8149P and converted to a sprayer for Beaufort County Mosquito Control in 1998. To Contract Air Cargo and stored at Pontiac, MI in 2011. Still there in 2017.

On the loop at Prestwick, heading to line up for takeoff on runway 13. These weekly flights to Prestwick from the Naval Air Facility at Mildenhall related to traffic to and from the US Navy Polaris nuclear submarine base at the Holy Loch.

Was with NAF Mildenhall from 1973 to 1981 when she moved to NAS Guantanamo Bay. In 1986 she was retired at Davis Monthan AFB. Her sister, 141010 crashed into the St. Johns river after departure from NAS Jacksonville, Fl, in 1983 after which, ship 140996 was sent to NAS Guantanamo Bay. It is almost certain that the photo was taken at NAS Jacksonville transient line shortly after arrival as there is still 60 weight oil on the engine cowls and gear doors. She always flew with 80 lb bails of rags and was wiped down soon after she arrived anywhere.
