Ex German AF 2446, painted as Royal Netherlands AF D-8060.

After its active military career in 1987, Starfighter 24+46 was kept as an instructional airframe at Eggebek and Schleswig. A restoration was started in 2013, and the fully restored airframe was seen at Teuge in July 2022 with markings "D-8060" of the Royal Netherlands AF.

The Teuge team of enthusiasts managed to restore former Luftwaffe F-104 2646 into a near mint sixties era KLu example, including the grey colours and sixties sidewinders. When Teuge airfield closed for the night the Starfighter was positioned on the threshold. Thanks to the entire team to make this photo shoot possible!

Fokker built RF-104G, first flight December 4, 1963 coded KG+290. Became BB+240 in 1964. Modified to F-104G 24+46 by Messerschmitt in 1968. withdrawn from use and stored at Manching 1987 with 3.406 flight hours. Became BRDT airframe at Eggebek AB 1988.May 2002 sold at Schleswig to private collector at Moers (Germany). In 2013 sold to Lex Versteeg. Will be restored at Teuge (EHTE) as Royal Netherlands Air Force D-8060.

This is the former German AF Starfighter 2446 painted to represent Netherlands Air Force D-8060, an air defence example restored to the most minute detail. The real D-8060 was delivered to Turkey in the early eighties.

This licence -built F-104 was previously 2446 (24+46 in real money) of the Bundesmarine but is undrgoing restoration in these KLu 322 Squadron markings at the very friendly Koude Oolog Museum (Cold War Museum) at Teuge.
