Another extraordinary formation during the Italian Air Force anniversary festivities

Re-flown in Italy just four days earlier following delivery to Grosseto aboard an AMI C-130J. Seen here taxiing back after its first ever display performance, in formation with other jet types, N991SF served with the Aeronautica Militare at Grosseto as MM54258 from 1964 until 2004 and is now based at the NASA Space Center, Florida. It is the first Straighter to fly in Europe since the ex R Norwegian AF CF-104D LN-STF was grounded in 2018 with ejector seat issues. Starfighters Aerospace have recently restored to flight a single -seat F-104S, also ex Italian.

Took part in the amazing flying display during the 100th anniversary air show of the Italian AF.

Delivered in 1970. Stored at Grazzanise in 2004. Sold as N991SF in 2012 and returned to airworthy status.

Became N991SF (with c/n stated as 54258) and still current in 2019.
