First flying in 1937 this was a glider capable of carrying ten troops and over 1000 were built. They were used extensively in WW II particularly in North Africa and in the invasion of Crete. The example seen here is a replica built using many original parts and is displayed in this diorama as a part of the Luftwaffe Museum.
