Ex AeroCarib DC-9 XA-TBX is now preserved as a public library in front of the cityhall in Venustiano Carranza. A Mexico City neighborhood not too far from the Mexico City Airport. Aircraft approaching the airport fly low over this area of the city. XA-TBX is linenumber 13, and was delivered to Trans World Airlines in early 1966.

Converted into a virtual library in memory of Venustiano Carranza de la Garza who is a leading historical figure in Mexico. The name on the engine cowling is copied from when the aircraft flew with Aerocaribe.

Delivered to TWA as N1053T in 1966. To Texas International in 1977. Merged into Continental and reregistered as N653TX in 1982. To Intercontinental as HK-3833X in 1993 then to Aerocaribe as XA-TBX in 1996. Withdrawn from use at Mexico City in 2001. Preserved as a library nearby.

So you think TWA never had a DC-9-15 with the "TW" suffix on the registration? Then look at this shot. Of course it is really N1053T..but I saw it several times before the error was noticed and corrected.
