VH-CDZ looking in top condition. Withdrawn from use at the end of 1957, the red paint soon faded, the fabric control surfaces rotted away and parts such as windows and cowls went missing.

VH-CDZ was grounded after a minor landing accident at Bankstown in 1957. For several years it was stored outside or in Marshall's second hangar (on right) until the hangar was swapped for one at Camden airport . It was then towed to Camden and later to an off-airport site. Sold in 1972, it returned to Bankstown for intended export to the US but this was blocked. A subsequent attempt to restore CDZ to airworthy in Australia abandoned after it suffered structural damage . Photo by the late Bob Kensett.

Was officially registered to Richard M. Rosser (Graham, TX) as N8486D in Nov 1981, and to the Confederate Air Force in Apr 1983, with the same registration. But the aircraft was never delivered and remained at Bankstown, and the registration was never applied. It was cancelled from the US register on 17 Dec 1984.

Built in 1935 for KNILM and delivered to Batavia (Jakarta) as PK-AFL. To Australia in 1942 as VH-ADZ for ANA. Bought by Marshall Airways in 1948 and flown as a 17-seater as VH-CDZ until damaged in u/c collapse at Mascot on 10 November 1957. It was stored at Bankstown from 1958 until loaned to the Camden Museum of Aviation in 1965. Then to an off-airport compound in Narellan in 1971 as seen here, and back to Bankstown in 1972. It's still there today (2017).

VH-CDZ was an KNILM aircraft that came to Australia in World War II and impressed by the USAAF. After the war it was sold to Australian National Airways as VH-ADZ.
